Beyond The Western Front is an intercultural project documenting the contribution of Black, Asian and ethnic minorities during WW1 from a North East of England perspective, as well as encompassing international locations.
Marking the Centenary of the First World War, this interdisciplinary project aims to create cross-cultural dialogue and exchange through research, creative events and education. identity on tyne, the community group behind this project, will be working with the diverse communities of the region. The participants will develop practical and creative skills which will be used to establish and share information to create a greater understanding of WW1 heritage in relation to ethnic minorities in the region as well as in the home countries.
